Algae Control!
Algae control doesn’t have to be difficult. (For the first couple of years it was for me).
There are multitudes of steps that can be successfully employed in achieving algae-free pond. But it will not be successful until we first understand what creates the algae.
Fish waste, dead leaves, bugs, uneaten fish food, dead algae, plenty of sunshine and warm water would be a perfect source that helps to produce nutrients for the algae to feed and grow.
Occasionally I use pond-dye which colors my pond water black. I can control the depth of shade by the amount of dye mixed in. It makes my pond looks like the black lagoon and helps to reduce sun damage.
With knowledge what is algae and what exactly creates it, we can now focus on how to reduce decaying elements.
Algae type is divided into two kinds:
Unicellular (green pond water) Multi-Cellular (string algae)
I would love to hear your best experiences and your most interesting information how you control algae growth.Or if you have a general story on this subject, I am sure others who visit this site will thank you, too!
